Aerial Tree Pruning IA

Duration:          2 days Training with an integrated City & Guilds NPTC Assessment 

Attendees:        max. 4 per course

Venue:              This is normally completed at our site locally to Builth Wells, or Abbey Cwm Hir, in Powys.         
                         If you have enough people for a full course we are able to run this course on your site (subject to a pre-course visit).

Pre-requisites:  Tree Climbing & Aerial Rescue, Chainsawa Maintenance & Crosscutting, Felling & Processing Trees up to 380mm, Aerial Cutting of Trees with a Chainsaw using Freefall Techniques

Qualification:    0021-07 or 0021-13 - previously known as CS40

Course Objectives:

  • To understand relevant health and safety legislation and industry good practice.
  • To be able to assess site specific site hazards.
  • To be able to identify tree categories.
  • To understand relevant aspects of BS3998 2010.
  • To understand work methods for all tree categories.
  • To be able to plan & agree safe work method with ground staff.
  • To be able to carry out pre climb tree inspection.
  • To understand how to carry out crown thinning & reduction of a tree.
  • To be able to work safely.To be able to carry out crown thinning & reduction of a tree.
  • To present produce as specified for subsequent extraction or loading.
  • To be able to work safely.
